Overview
The problems of document review and electronic discovery for corporations and law firms have become well known in recent years. Companies and law firms have faced major challenges and costs in preserving, reviewing and producing electronic and paper information upon notice of litigation or a government investigation, and have faced heightened requirements to defend their discovery policies and procedures with judges and regulators in the United States.
Discovery Services LLC (“DSL”) assists corporate legal departments and law firms in document review, electronic discovery, the management of discovery in lawsuits and investigations, and the development of policies and procedures for electronic discovery and records management. DSL delivers these services through its alliance partner relationship with Huron Consulting Group. Through this alliance partner relationship, DSL draws upon six review centers in the United States, over 900 review attorneys, state of the art data processing and hosting facilities, and a wide variety of experienced electronic discovery and litigation services consultants. For those clients so interested, review capabilities can also be made available in India.

DSL provides document review services pursuant to comprehensive quality control and validation procedures. These procedures include, among other things, protocols to maximize consistent and accurate judgments by reviewers with respect to relevance, privilege, and issue codes; and to minimize reviewer turnover during and across projects. DSL provides corporate legal departments and law firms, in appropriate matters, the opportunity to utilize expert validation and defense of process services, either on a consulting or testimonial basis.

DSL provides document review and electronic discovery services pursuant to flat, per page pricing. In contrast to an approach to document review and electronic discovery based on hourly pricing, the DSL approach reduces the overall cost of the project for the corporate legal department or law firm, and provides more predictability of costs.
